What does the Office of Technology Transfer do for you?

The Office of Technology Transfer and Industrial Development (OTTID) provides leadership and strategic direction for Syracuse University's Technology Transfer Program and provides industrial outreach for university inventors.  OTTID is responsible for administration of intellectual property on behalf of the University and interacting with industry partners interested in research and licensing of intellectual property owned by Syracuse University. OTTID functions include the development and administration of intellectual property policy, including the University's Patent Policy, the evaluation of inventions, prosecution of patents, licensing of intellectual property, monitoring of licenses and other intellectual property agreements, distribution of resulting income, and provision of support to other University units in copyright, trademark, and research funding agreements.

In addition, OTTID provides outreach services for the community on behalf of the system wide technology transfer program. These services include giving forums about how to work with Syracuse University, and providing ways to access the Syracuse University tech transfer system though publications, Web sites, and visibility at relevant meetings.
